Already linked with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and certain cancers, including cancer of the pancreas, red meat was found by a team of US researchers to be a possible cause of bladder cancer, a study published in the journal Cancer said. The culprits in the cold cuts are nitrates and nitrites which are added to meat when it is processed to preserve and enhance color and flavor.

The  (FAO) of the United Nations has estimated that up to 25% of the world’s food crops are contaminated with mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by microfungi that are capable of causing disease and death in humans and other animals.

Researchers have found the first evidence that perflourinated chemicals (PFCs) - chemicals that are widely used in everyday items such as food packaging, pesticides, clothing, upholstery, carpets and personal care products - may also be associated with infertility in women.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released its latest assessment of the chemicals we're all carrying around in our bodies. CDC has measured 212 chemicals in people's blood or urine—75 of which have never before been measured in the U.S. population. The new chemicals include acrylamide, arsenic, environmental phenols, including bisphenol A and triclosan, and perchlorate.

The first to undertake pre-clinical testing of Zeolite was the Ruder Boskovic Institute in Croatia. The mineral compound was processed through a special micronization machine (TMAZ) that increased the surface area several times over, after which the mineral was ground into particles of different sizes, about 15% of which were nano particles (as small as 100 nm).

More research studies were conducted in Croatia, Austria, and Germany. Their reports contained the positive effects of Zeolite on various health conditions. The studies showed that the Zeolite administered in capsule form was beneficial for different types of cancer, some viral infections, Crohn’s disease, early MS patients, and other neurological diseases. Further studies were undertaken to determine the effect of micronized Zeolite on the progress of these diseases, particularly cancer. The studies revealed that in tissue cultures, Zeolite showed anti-cancer activity by induction of expression of tumor suppressor proteins (p21WAF1/CIP1 and p27KIP1) and inhibition of protein kinase B (c-Akt).

Aflatoxins are one of the most potent natural toxins and are recognized as hepatotoxic, carcinogenic, immunosuppressive, and antinutritional contaminants of many staple food commodities. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified aflatoxins as carcinogenic to humans (Group 1) based on sufficient scientific evidence.

In the midst of the push for environmental regulation in connection with the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) declared carbon dioxide — a substance produced by human respiration, among other means — a danger to public health.
